Not only does Base-Fossil allow you to experience the game as it was first created, it is generally considered to be one of the most skill-based formats in the game’s history. Although there is a small card pool, with only 205 legal cards, there is a near-unlimited amount of interesting interactions which can occur!
Base-Fossil is a format of the Pokémon Trading Card Game which only uses cards released in 1999, the year of the game’s release (with a few exceptions). There is still a small but devoted community dedicated to playing with these cards.
